Issues
"I’m running for State Representative because Ridgefield has the right to determine our own fate — not Hartford. I am running to save our home and give back to the community that gave me everything.
I was born in Ridgefield, I was raised in Ridgefield, & one day, I wish to be able to raise a family of my own in Ridgefield."
Protect our home:
Local Control
When elected, I will begin my fight in our state legislature to repeal and replace 8-30G once & for all. While we need affordable housing, our town belongs to our people; decisions about Ridgefield should be made by the people of Ridgefield. Not edicts dictated down from Hartford.
Preservation
I am an avid conservationist, as well as an environmentalist. I will be a leading voice to preserve Ridgefield’s forests, farms, wetlands, & all of the natural beauty we have to offer. I will work to help the reconstruction of our towns historic stone walls that give Ridgefield its unique colonial charm.
Keep Ridgefield affordable:
Reform Property Taxes
I will work to create a 'Long-Term Residency Tax Relief Program' allowing municipalities to provide percentage based property tax relief based on sustained community attachment. This program would be designed to help: longtime homeowners who have lived in town for many years, residents who grew up here and graduated from Ridgefield High School, and seniors who wish to retire with dignity and age in place without being taxed out of their homes. If you built your life in Ridgefield, you have the right to stay in Ridgefield.
Protecting Home Ownership
I will work to create legal mechanisms to prevent asset managers and large institutional investors from ever having the ability to buy up single-family homes in our community. Your right to live here should not depend on whether or not you have the financial means to outbid Wall Street. Our housing markets must always prioritize the interests of Ridgefielders over financial capital that only seeks to extract value and drive up costs. Ridgefield's homes are for families, not corporations.
Strengthen Safety & Accessibility:
Transportation
I will work to expand public transportation options for Ridgefield’s seniors and disabled residents. I support modernizing the Danbury Rail Line with already existing hardware. This would allow more frequent and on time service, as well as more direct connections. By providing the people of Ridgefield with better and more reliable rail access, we will give longtime residents safe, independent mobility while alleviating the local traffic that is making mobility in Ridgefield harder than ever before.
Political and Media Literacy
I will work to advocate for the incorporation of Political and Media Market Literacy education into public school curricula. Young people today are navigating an information environment designed to manipulate them. They face algorithms that radicalize, headlines that mislead, and political content engineered to provoke. Teaching students how to critically evaluate sources, recognize manipulation, and understand how their government actually works is not a partisan issue. It is a matter of civic survival. We must give students the tools to think for themselves, before someone else does it for them.
Common Sense Approach to Guns:
Victim Protection
I will work to expedite firearm permit approval process and waive associated fees for individuals with active restraining orders, documented stalkers, or a history of domestic violence. When someone's life is in danger, bureaucratic delays and financial barriers should never stand between them and their right to protect themselves. The permitting process exists to ensure public safety, but for victims, that process must work faster. No one fleeing danger should ever have to wait.
Firearm Safekeeping
I will work to implement a voluntary firearm safekeeping program in conjunction with local law enforcement agencies. Whether you are experiencing mental health issues, or simply have family visiting for the weekend, this would provide anyone an opportunity to voluntarily surrender their weapons to be temporarily stored in gun lockers with local law enforcement.
Job Transparency:
Contract with Ridgefield
I have signed a public contract with the People of Ridgefield. This is a sworn, notarized commitment filed with the Ridgefield Town Clerk and available for public inspection. Unlike a typical campaign promise, this contract carries consequences. If I break any of my core commitments, I permanently forfeit my right to seek re-election to this seat in 2028. Politicians have broken promises for too long. I refuse to be one of them. You can read a copy of the contract here.
Debriefs and Town Halls
If elected, I commit to publishing a public legislative debrief every single week the General Assembly is in session. Ridgefield deserves total transparency with their representatives. They hold a right to know exactly what is going on in Hartford, and how it will impact our community. I will also hold at least one public town hall every month I serve in office. You will always know where I stand, and you will always have a seat at the table. A representative who doesn't answer to the people they represent isn't representing anyone at all.
